Editorial Reviews:
In China during New Years little red envelopes are given out to family. The envelopes are called hongbao in Mandarin or laisee in Cantonese; the Americanized name is Lucky Money. The tradition is meant to bring good luck to both the giver and the receiver. The envelopes are also used at special occasions such as weddings. These unique gold envelopes have stylized Chinese characters and good fortune symbols embossed on them. There are koi fish and chinese coins; both have special meanings for prosperity and longevity.
