Comment: I just came from a live show featuring Lao and his Guitar player and producer Jeff Kollman. What a great performance here in Springfield, MA. The show featured most of the songs on his new CD Diversify in which they spent over 300 hrs of studio time putting it together. It was time well spent as the audiance went wild over this exciting compilation of funk and jazz. using an ipod ( of all things) to create the backing music, This duo came to play and play they did producing an electrifiying set of upbeat and slow jams. Both cd's are must haves if you are looking for some new jazz to spin on your playlist. Customer Rating: Summary: Diverse. Comment: After almost five years after his last smash CD, "Golden Soul", this young, hip and incredibly talented pianist releases his second full-band album, "Diversify", a multi-faceted project that displays his talent for everything from in the pocket funk to exotic fusion and ballads that stay in the heart. Special guests on the CD include Tizer's mentor, guitarist Chieli Minucci (Special EFX), violinist Karen Briggs (Yanni, Chaka Khan), percussionist D. Munyungo Jackson (Sting, Stevie Wonder) and saxophonist Andy Suzuki (Michael Franks, David Benoit). The album is rich with musical treats that will make you dance, sing joyously, reflect intimately, cuddle up romantically, and embark upon an adventure. Lao's change of pace from keyboard to piano is just beautiful and truly shows the world his creativity.
