Paramount We Were Soldiers (Blu-Ray) Mel Gibson and Randall Wallace, the star and writer of "Braveheart," reunite for this action-packed war movie that features explosive battle sequences, thrilling aerial photography and unforgettable military heroes who fought for their country, their loved ones and their freedom. The year is 1965 and America is at war with North Vietnam. Commanding the air cavalry is Lt. Col. Hal Moore (Gibson), a born leader committed to his troops. His target: the la Drang Valley, called "The Valley of Death." As Moore prepares for one of the most violent battles in U.S. history, he delivers a stirring promise to his soldiers and their families: "I will leave no man behind...dead or alive. We will all come home together." This heroic true story of commitment, courage and sacrifice also stars Madeleine Stowe, Greg Kinnear, Sam Elliott, Chris Klein, Keri Russell and Barry Pepper. "We Were Soldiers" is "a must-see film for our time and all time!" (Bill Zwecker, FOX-TV).

Customer Rating: Summary: Horatio at the Bridge. Comment: It is correct for us to honor free men who fought to keep others free. These are lessons that need to be taught to each generation. It is also correct for us to hear the counter argument. Heros can take that.
Customer Rating: Summary: The futility of war Comment: This movie drives it home very strongly how futile and painful war is. Hundreds of men sent to their deaths for no good reason, maybe that would have been a better name for this movie, "For No Good Reason".
A very moving war story shown partly from both sides about the tragedy and suffering involved when 2 armies decide to take each other on, no holds barred, in a full frontal assault.
Mel Gibson is true to form, a powerful and strong epic from a master actor and producer, he has been involved in many great movies over the last 25 years, and deserves full credit for yet another commanding performance, despite a few fopar's off screen, he really is a legend of the modern movie era.
Customer Rating: Summary: An Excellent War Movie Comment: One of the finest, gripping and compelling war movie ever (also Tora Tora Tora, The Longest Day and Sands of Iwo Jima). Think what you want about Mel Gibson, however, this cast is remarkable and believable in the midst of the most incredible and horrific of battle. Note to chicks: unless you get the horror of war and the nature of the soldier, you probably won't like this film. I have seen it three times and I still am in awe of the suffering and heroism of those who served.
Customer Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD! Comment: BASED ON TRUE EVENTS IT REALLY BRINGS TOO LIGHT WHAT SOME HAVE SACRAFICED FOR THIS COUNTRY!
MEL GIBBSONS BEST PERFORMANCE SINCE BRAVE HEART.
Customer Rating: Summary: Vietnam Comment: Based on the book written by Gen. Moore, I thought is was well acted, with great special effects. Furthermore I think it pays tribute to the soldiers, and there families, who had to fight that war. It follows the the book closely, and I am told that it is historically accurate.
