Summary: Good Movie
Comment: I have watched this movie in a Brazilian Gay Film Festival. It won like the best movie for the audience even not be so gay as others. In my opinion it is good because shows all conflicts everybody (gay or straight) pass thought. All actors are good, specially the father. Today I have read a Juliane Moore interview where she said how difficult is for a parent to realised that a son became someone diferent like they had imagined. Maybe because they have their own life. Jean-Louis Roux shows exactily this in the movie. And no matter how far we can go to solve something that we are fighting because the answer can be inside us.

Summary: AMAZING
Comment: i saw two canadian movies so far "the barbarian invasions " and "crazy".both movies are compelling and spellbinding.
it is an outstanding coming-of-age story and reminds me of many other fine movies like " a beautiful thing ","get real","summer storm" and "just a question of love".
the soundtracks in the movie are a real success.i mean who could expect more than Aznavour ,David bowie, and CRAZY OF Patsy Cline !!!!!!!
the film has a deep and powerfull script.it is full with feelings and love.the film has stand-out performances too.the relationship between Zac and his father is very true and touching.there are moments you can not stop crying !
finally this movie is about tolerance and acceptance .it is about unconditional love because when the vinyl disc of CRAZY is broken the first time then lost and found to be broken again we do understand that conflicts are trivial and life is too short to be avoided .
i wonder when i can also shout out my real identity to my family without making them suffer or compromise the love wich binds us!!

Summary: Perfect coming-of-age story!
Comment: "Crazy" is a coming-of-age story about a young man dealing with his sexuality. This film is a touching look at a boy desperate to keep the love of his father but struggling with the emotions inside himself that threaten to alienate him from the father he loves.

Zac is the fourth son in a devout Catholic family. From the beginning of his life, he is different from his brothers---starting with his birthdate, Christmas Day. His mother sees this as a sign from God that the baby was born to be special, eventually taking him to a woman who can "see" God-given gifts in others. The woman tells her that the boy, indeed, has a gift and will grow up to do special things. For a while, Zac is close to his father, the favorite. Once the boy starts showing feminine traits, such as wanting a baby buggy for Christmas or wanting to care for the newborn fifth brother, the father starts to pull away. Determined that his son will not be a "fairy", he forces him to go to camp, buys masculine gifts and lets the boy know that certain behaviors are not befitting of young men. Though his mother is very loving and supportive, Zac wants to please his father. By his teenage years, he finally relents and dates a local girl, hiding his burgeoning homosexual desires but pleased that finally he gets his father's respect.

Everything changes on his oldest brother's wedding day, when by a misunderstanding, his father is convinced he has returned to his old ways. At this point, Zac must leave the world he's loved and began to search out who he truly is.

From beginning to end, "Crazy" is an extremely genuine film looking at a father/son relationship through the highs and lows of a son becoming the man he will be. The actors who play Zac at both ages are very good actors, as are those who play the parents. It is evident that the father loves his son but can't come to terms with his son's sexual orientation. The movie comes to a satisfying conclusion and has some very tender scenes that are sure to tug at your heartstrings. With some great songs by Patsy Cline playing in the background, good acting and an enduring story and characters, this movie is well worth adding to your dvd collection. Highly recommended!

Summary: Culturally Interesting
Comment: This movie is about a family of four brothers growing up in French Canada. The movie spans through 3 decades, the 60's, 70's, and the 80's. The story is basically of the four sons, primarily of two, the oldest (Gervais) and the second youngest (Zachary). Staunch Roman Catholics, this family revolved on very religious principles. It was thought that Zachary was born with a gift because he was born on Christmas Day and he almost died in the childbirth. Zachary is also the different kid with gay feelings which he suppress most of his life.

This a family movie, not necessarily a gay movie. There is very little gay issues being brought up. Zachary, like all his brothers, grew up to be a tough kid. When he became a teenager, he dated girls. His oldest brother knew something was different, but he had serious issues of his own as drugs and alcohol (he died of an overdose at the end of the movie).

The movie is a good social instrument of learning about the traditional social values in French Canada. The family was basically middle class working class. The children grew up comfortably.

Of all the sons, Zachary became the one who, throughout the years, was flamboyant in his style of dressing. When he was just a young boy there was the incident of oral copulation with the neighborhood weird kid, that was brushed off. When he was young adult he became infatuated with a good looking man who happens to be the boyfriend of one his cousins. In someone's wedding he was seeing in a car snorting pot with this guy. Everybody thought they were kissing. This is basically when the gay issues are brought to the surface.

Torn by his feelings, he fled to Israel, where he has his first gay experience with a man. He returns back to Canada, to witness his brother's funeral. Then the movie ends without knowing what the future holds for him.

Again, this is more of a family movie. Gay issues are only brought up at the end of the movie, and are secondary to the main plot. If you are looking for gay sex scenes or gay bonding, not your type of movie.
