Besides those 2, I thought Sonia was great and the routine with the wings was very elegant. I'm more into tribal style so I'm not going to buy this DVD (I rented it on Netflix). If you are into cabaret you should definitely check it out though! My favorites were Rachel Brice, Amar Gamal and Sonia in their dance numbers, it was like they were entrancing me. I am looking forward to more Bellydance Superstars DVD releases. I went ahead and purchased it and watched it last night, and really liked it! The lighting is nice, the bellydancers are beautiful with wonderful outfits and wonderful dance moves. Overall I think it is a good DVD to add to your bellydance dvd library. There are many good performances and performers in this dvd. Try it! Customer Rating: Summary: weak dvd- saida made it worth it Comment: Adore's performance was horrible. She was wearing panties and a bra. You could see her entire legs which is good for samba but bad for bellydancing. Her performance made me want to barf. It's sad because it seems like she is really good at samba and her bellydance moves seem to be executed nicely as well. I don't necessarily think she is a good bellydancer though at all. She doesn't feel arabic music at all. I've seen her bellydance before and she dances as if she's dancing to American music although she can execute the moves well. That's the priblem with a lot of these non-Eastern descent dancers that haven't grown up around the music. They don't move to the music very well. They can do the moves, but they might as well be still dancing to american music. Few American dancers have transcended that though and have become great bellydancers. But Adore's performance and clothing was downright offensive and disgusting. And only because she tried to do the fusion. I would have loved to see a pure samba piece from her. She was really good. Her bellydancing leaves a lot to be desired though. I think she was hired partly for her gymnastics tricks. Petite Jamila- I loved the song she did and she's cute but she had zills and they dubbed the zills over so it sounded horrible. BUt she's an ok dancer, she's really beautiful and you can tell she's really talented in terms of skill and the way she moves her body. I'm interested to see her grow. Sonia- One of my favorites because she's so physically beautiful. I had always thought that she was just hired because of her looks. If you look at one of the first bellydance superstars dvds, her dancing is not anything phenomenal. But over the years, she has grown soo much. I think that trip to egypt she took with issam changed her ALOT. She got to meet the top bellydancers in Egypt and actually learn how to bellydance. After that she has impressed me. Her dancing is a lot more egyptian and arab style now! I like it. She is also very soft which I love. She has two pieces on the dvd, both to recorded music. On the first performance she seemed to be suffering with her freezes. On the second one she seemed ok. Her costumes were beautiful. The first one was breathtaking. It''s the one she was wearing on the cover. Her second costume was the same one she wore in her previous dvd the art of the drum solo. really pretty too; she's really pretty and great at choosing costumes. One thing I dislike about her though is that she always looks like she's suffering during her shimmies. And she so,metimes looks like she's concentrating on what move to do next. She should smile more often. She's getting better though. But bottom line: I liked her performances a lot and she's gorgeous. Saida- whoa! she's good. i think her makeup gets a little excessive but she is an IMPRESSIVE dancer the only bdss dancer that actually impresses someone that has grown up with the dance and the culture Her first performance is baladi; she is so talented. Then she does a traditional Egyptian cane dance extremely well. GO Saida! Now that is bellydancing. She feels the music and makes me feel it with her. I didn't like her first costume too much. I don't even bother to watch Rachel Brice and Sharon Kihara. Skip!! Amar Gamal- her first dance is ok. nothing special at all ehh then she does a drum solo with issam houshan it was good some unique moves kind of made me yawn though Jillina- I loved her first costume it was a beautiful deep green. she did her first piece to love music an oud and a tabla she did it to leylat hob absolutely beautiful music i looove that song She's a great dancer and it was a nice dance. She has such a strong Egyptian shimmy, it's amazing. Her second performance was a piece to recorded music. It was nice. an egyptian sounding piece. I definitely prefer her with drum solos and with straight hair. Bozenka- she does 2 pieces one with isis wings to this song that is on issam's album ehhh it's ok she then does a drum solo with issam; it's cute she's a good dancer and she's really pretty The dvd would have gotten 2 stars if it weren't for saida.
