Editorial Reviews:

Once again available, the Tibet Almond Stick is the amazing product your grandmother used to remove scratches from her fine furniture. Easy to use, the Almond Stick quickly removes superficial scratches on most finishes. Simply rub the Almond Stick over the scratch and watch it disappear!

Summary: Superior Product, but it can't work miracles
Comment: I recently inherited my mother's teak dining room set, which she purchased the year she got married, 1964. Along with it, she sent the Tibet Almond stick. I asked her where she bought it, cause I wanted to buy one to use with the furniture. She said she didn't know, cause she had never bought one. She had received the one she had as s gift from my grandmother in 1964 when she bought the table. She then said, "You don't need to buy one, cause this one still works, I just used it to retouch this furniture." I didn't quite believe her, so I used it on some of my other wood furniture. Lo and behold, the stick still worked like new! That's 44 years, people. You'll never need to buy another one as long as you keep it in the tin.

That being said, it doesn't work miracles, people. It doesn't fill in scratches. If you have a fine surface scratch, it usually has a white-looking edge to it, and this is an oil that will get rid of the white part of the scratch. If you look closely at the scratch, you will still be able to see it, but it won't be white-looking and noticeable. At quick glance, without closely examining the table, it will appear nice and new. Definitely a product worth buying, esp. since you will only ever need to buy one!

Summary: Wonder product
Comment: I really have no idea how it works but it works miraculously!
I tried it on dark brown wood and on black lacquered wood. It removed the scratches from both surfaces in an instant. It leaves the polished spot slightly shinier than the rest, however that can quickly be solved with oiling the entire surface ( I use Old English oil)

Summary: Not good for dark wood
Comment: I thought after reading the reviews that this would be a miracle fix for my desk. It is dark wood and this only made the scratch a shade darker than the original scratch color. The scratch still stands out.

Summary: Bamboo floor scratch remover
Comment: I tried several things to mask the white streaks that were appearing in my bamboo floors. I had about given up when I read about Tibet Almond Stick. While it didn't make the scratch totally disappear, it masked the white color and its real difficult now to see the scratch. I'm a satisfied buyer. Only problem: shipping cost more than the product! :-(

Summary: Helpful, but not a miracle
Comment: I imagined this would be like a large chapstick, but it's really tightly wound cloth wrapped in paper and saturated in an oily substance. Maybe it can remove the most superficial of scratches, but if the scratch has any depth to it at all, it will still be visible from certain angles. We bought this to remove cat scratches from our dining room table. The product has definitely made the scratches less visible and given the wood a nice, well-conditioned sheen. But like I say, the scratches are still there -- you just don't notice them as much. The only thing that truly "removes" a scratch, I'm afraid, is sanding and refinishing.
