Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Needs updating Comment: The map is clearly printed and features user-friendly type fonts, contrasting color choices, etc. It's printed on a coated stock that will resist tearing, water (very handy in rainy seasons), and other sources of potential damage. If it were up to date, it would be pretty good. (Though the coverage of some major cities, e.g. Delhi, is limited.) But this map was published in 1999. (Though the date doesn't seem to appear on the map, so you wouldn't necessarily know that it's outdated if you were to see it in a store.) It's now 2007. So the map doesn't include the three new states of Uttaranchal, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. Also, the spellings and/or names of some major cities are obsolete, e.g., Kolkata is still spelled "Calcutta." Also, in the past several years, the Indian government has spent a fortune on infrastructure development. It's quite possible that this map is missing new highways. Customer Rating: Summary: Map of India Comment: In roughly a 20" X 36" dimension, the Periplus Travel Map of India offers a quick review of India, using only a quarter of the two-sided map space (just half of one side) to picture that fairly large country, while the bulk of both sides is taken up with maps of a few of the larger cities in India. For someone like myself who is looking for a large, detailed map of India, showing all the cities and towns, it is a disappointment. More Reviews
