Drawing on rare archival film and photographs, Tug of War: The Story of Taiwan explains why control over this bustling island 90 miles off the mainland is so pivotal to both sides... and to the world.

Customer Rating: Summary: teriffic footage... Comment: Thank God for PBS. This is a fantastic survey of Taiwan in the 20th century. While some would argue that it is slightly skewed toward the pro-independence side, nearly everyone would agree that the video covers many historical points and uses rare and extraordinary footage to illustrate the events. Footage of the early KMT government is particularly amazing. And then there's that extraodinary scene of the ROC delegation storming out of the United Nations. I'd call this a must-see for anyone at all interested in the the life and times of Taiwan. Customer Rating: Summary: Every Taiwanese must see this video. Comment: I had seen this film on PBS.
