Customer Rating: Summary: Tantalizing Beauty Comment: A wonderfully texted book of decorative arts. Finely detailed pictures give the reader a very real sense of the beauty in Japanese works of the Meiji period. The histories of the pieces are enlightening, as are those of the artists. I would like to have seen more of the makers' and artists' marks and signatures, and translations thereof for use as identification reference. Overall, a book I'm glad to have not only as a reference, but as a bit of eye candy.
