By virtue of his previous four books on the subject, David Ray Griffin is widely recognized as one of the leading spokespersons of the 9/11 truth movement, which rejects the official conspiracy theory about 9/11. Although this movement was long ignored by the US government and the mainstream media, recent polls have shown that (as Time magazine has acknowledged) the rejection of the official theory has become "a mainstream political phenomenon." It is not surprising, therefore, that the government and the corporately controlled media have shifted tactics. No longer ignoring the 9/11 truth movement, they have released a flurry of stories and reports aimed at debunking it. In the present book, David Ray Griffin shows that these attempts can themselves be easily debunked. Besides demonstrating the pitiful failure of Debunking 9/11 Myths (published by Popular Mechanics and endorsed by Senator John McCain), Griffin riddles recent reports and stories put out by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the New York Times, Vanity Fair, and Time magazine as well as a new book by the chairmen of the 9/11 Commission. He also responds to criticisms of the 9/11 truth movement by left-leaning and Christian publications--which one might have expected to be supportive. Throughout these critiques, Griffin shows that the charge that is regularly leveled against critics of the official theory-that they employ irrational and unscientific methods to defend conclusions based on faith-actually applies more fully to those who defend the official theory. This book, by debunking the most prevalent attempts to refute the evidence cited by the 9/11 truth movement, shows that this movement's central claim-that 9/11 was an inside job-remains the only explanation that fits the facts.

Customer Rating: Summary: paranoia pimps Comment: The author clearly failed to find professional demolitions experts to support his wild assertions about 9/11 being an "inside job".
Don't waster your life on these paranoia pimps, selling fear to folks that ingest and buzz on it all too easily.
9/11 "truthers" are not displaying a healthy curiosity, but rather, are scratching an itch to see change in the white house. When 2 elections failed to garner the change they wanted, they figured that irrational and wild allegations might help.
Pretty desperate and grim, cynical, beyond reason.
Customer Rating: Summary: For the serious Comment: This book is for those who are serious about saving our country, and humankind.
We can tell who the serious are by what they have sacrificed to get the truth out. A good number of Americans have lost their jobs, and sacrificed friendships and public standing, to help their fellow citizens understand the urgent need for 9/11 truth. Dr. Griffin is one of those people. If you want to stop terrorism, the 9/11 Wars, torture, and the destruction of the US constitution among other tragedies, read this book and pass it on.
But if you are among the few who are serious about perpetuating the fraud of 9/11, then continue to ignore or condemn this book. It's all on the record, and we're all in it together.
Customer Rating: Summary: Casualties of 9/11 no one saw Comment: There are no real serious proponents of the theory that the government was behind 9/11 and specifically used 'controlled demolition' (not uncontrolled, mind you) to bring down one or more of the WTC buildings. There are people who think something might be possible, but then...a lot of things are possible, if you don't need the burden of genuine proof. But if you want to read thousands of small details that do not add up and do not address the big questions...go ahead.
There is no evidence here. This is over 350 pages of carefully crafted nonsense, no evidence for a ludicrous theory. Having ex-pilots and scientists testify that this is conspiracy is not proof...their opinions, however expert, do not refute what actually happened by providing any evidence. For instance, if the planes were not piloted by terrorists, who did pilot them? Or what actually hit the Pentagon? If the towers were brought down by explosives...who did it? Where are they? You can line up 1,000,000 people, all with different motivations to tell me that 9/11 was a conspiracy, and it's no proof at all. Where is the refutation of what actually did happen? And if people want to question the structural engineers who studied the disaster and found, surprise, no evidence of a conspiracy, it might be best to find more structural engineers who studied the same material and evidence who can support these theories. With evidence. But they can't. Apparently, you don't need to be a structural engineer to see it was a conspiracy, according to these theories...which means that the field of structural engineering no longer requires heavy schooling and credentials. Perhaps the conspiracy theorists build and certify their own homes.
And perhaps biggest of all...if the debunking evidence is so obvious and 'irrefutable' and un-debunkable...why does nobody really take it seriously? I mean, it's so obvious to some people that government let this all happen, planned it, in fact...would there not be 1,000 intrepid and known and respectable journals and reporters trying to make a career out of this? Instead, theologian Griffith is the one making the most of this. It does not add up.
No, I did not read the whole book, it's too much to digest and too serpentine to navigate, aside from being ludicrous in its 'irrefutable' claims. And furthermore, who cares? If the government planned 9/11 so they could invade other countries, get oil, etc, etc...what difference does it make? The net effect is then the same...the government DID benefit from the events in that it had a pretext to advance its agenda, whether or not they planned them, so what? I think if you believe the government has to and can plan a 9/11, you're out of your brain...but what's the point of all this? Shouldn't we all be storming the White House instead of blabbing on Amazon?
It's scary, and I almost regret reading into the 9/11 conspiracy publishing niche, which is what it is. Do not spend money on this book...read what you can somewhere and go to the free material online. Someone so dedicated to such a gigantic mythbuster would surely want to spread this around free in a pamphlet, no? I mean, the guy has to make a living, and I'm sure he's doing well travelling this roadshow to lectures.
You'll notice that nobody serious buys into any of this, and it's thoroughly debunked. I bet the government actually likes this sort of thing, though surely they pity the crowd in some way. If they can pull off 9/11 and only suffer some caustic Amazon reviews and maybe some bad bumper stickers, I'd say W and crew are sleeping pretty well.
It should be noted that the fervor of this sect is also displayed by their hardcore Amazon voting, reviews, and commentary, in which they rigidly back these crackpot theories like gospel.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Litmus Test of Intelligence for the American People Comment: No doubt it is a hard read. It is voluminous, meticulous, and if you cannot remember what was discussed three paragraphs ago, you probably get lost. However, this book is an absolute must for Americans if they wish to recapture their runaway democracy from a possible clandestine coup d'etat that has so far succeeded. And I sincerely hope that the claims apparently proven beyond doubt by Griffin will soon be scientifically refuted, because then, we would be able to all sit back and relax in the world that is still operated by familiar democratic principles.
Scientist or not, the author is a Ph.D., and he knows how to present information in the telltale manner of a piece of academic paper. He puts information in a well-sorted order, presents the source of information in the way that the reader can trace his research to find fault if s/he so wishes, he discusses theories other than his to check if other theories might explain the phenomenon under study better, and he often quotes his opponents directly before presenting his position, so that the book reads like a virtual face-to-face debate. If a debunker could refute his many claims in the very same academic manner, the discussions on 911 truth will end promtly. But so far, we have not seen any document from the debunker camp that could match the level of scientific approach that Griffin seems able to employ.
And the difficulty of the 911 truth movement seems to be the very level of intelligence that is required to sift through the enoumous volume of pieces of evidence, whether authentic or fablicated. It seems to me that if the Americans collectively fail the litmus test of intelligence that this whole mess has become, they will fail their own democracy.
So I sincerely hope that the whole academia of the U.S.A. joins their forces to quickly put an end to this debate. After reading this book, you cannot but realize that, if what this book is presenting is true, an unprecedented paradigm shift has swept over the world. If you are a scholar or a student or a CEO or an investor, your study and knowlege in politics, economics, international relations, international marketing, share market principles, or MBA based on the paradigm that was valid before 911, are completely irrelevant in the present day.
It is the most urgent task for the academia of the United States to finish discussing 911 truth and determine what kind of a world we live in now. And this book presents a very good starting point.
Customer Rating: Summary: Many still living with head in the sand Comment: How pathetic the posts that say this book and information is a sham. My guess would be they never read this or any of his other books. The truth is, these people can't face the truth. So be it. Their problem. It will come out in the end.
This and Mr Griffin's other books are superb by any standard! I've read them all. Even if you doubt this could be true, enlighten yourselves for a change and maybe it will cause you to think for yourself and not be sheeple!
